Past-Due Doctor’s Appointment

I am still 1 cm dilated but have thinned out more (about 75%) which is something.  My OB stripped my membranes today (manually separating the amniotic sac from my cervix)…I was SUPER nervous that it was going to hurt (I’ve heard it’s painful) but it didn’t hurt at all!  She said that by doing this there is a 50/50 chance it could put me into labor within the next 24 hours.  It doesn’t work for everyone but there’s a shot!  The plan is still to induce on the 21st if I don’t go into labor before then.  I don’t want to be induced but with the size of the baby and already being past-due I am comfortable with it.  Inducing is what my doctor recommends so I have to trust her!  I guess David and I will most likely have one more weekend of it just being us so we’ll have to take advantage of it!  We have a birthday dinner for one of our good friends tonight and then tomorrow we’ll go see a movie and go out to dinner…something that we won’t be able to do for a while!  Hope everyone has a great weekend!
